After completing an Outdoor Education course at TAFE SA, Dan and his wife Heather embarked on an 11-year journey across Australia in their trusty Toyota Hiace. His diverse experiences include surfing instruction, snorkelling tours on the Great Barrier Reef, and working with individuals with special needs. Now back in South Australia, Dan has returned to his family's business, Bike About, bringing a wealth of knowledge from his travels. He balances his work with family life, raising his son Ethan and dog Theo while still finding time for surfing, mountain biking, and exploring fresh bike trails.
Jack Young
Jack Young, born and raised in the Adelaide Hills, is a passionate cyclist and experienced tour guide. His love for cycling began at age 10 to escape farm duties. Now, with 25 years of cycle touring and guiding experience, Jack is Bike About's resident Adelaide Hills expert. He founded the company two decades ago, transforming his passion into a successful bicycle tour and hire business. Known for his friendly demeanour and unparalleled local knowledge, Jack has overcome challenges like bushfires and COVID-19 with resilience and innovation. Recently passing the reins to his son Dan, Jack leaves a legacy of entrepreneurship and a deep love for South Australian tourism.
